January 30 was an active day in history.
In 1933 Adolf Hitler became chancellor of Germany.
In 1948 Mohandas Gandhi was shot and killed in India.
In 1968 the Tet Offensive (offensive being the operative word here) began during the Vietnam War.
And, in 1972 13 civil rights marchers were shot to death by British soldiers in Northern Ireland on what became known as Bloody Sunday.
