Gypsy group lodges criminal complaint against Orbán ally Bayer

The National Forum of Hungarian Roma is filing a criminal complaint against Magyar Hírlap journalist Zsolt Bayer over an article published on January 5, the organisation announced on Wednesday. Bayer incited hatred and murder against Hungarian Roma in the right-wing daily, the forum argues.
A member of the Fidesz executive who spoke on condition of anonymity, told Népszabadság on Wednesday that Bayer is not a racist, but a “clown” with an inferiority complex and who causes much harm to Fidesz in general and to Prime Minister Viktor Orbán in particular, with his lack of consideration and unacceptable, outlandish statements. He is on the verge of being expelled from the party, the source added.
Other Fidesz politicians said it would be wise for Bayer to voluntarily quit the party, as he massively exposes the cabinet and Orbán to criticism.
