Friday evening The Chirikli Collective and Roma Community Center, will present the
SAIP JUSUF LIFE'S WORK AWARD to Ronald Lee.
STATEMENT FROM THE CHIRIKLI COLLECTIVE AND ROMA COMMUNITY CENTER:
"Mr. Lee has been an activist since his youth
in Montreal, and is a co-founder of Roma Community Centre, Toronto.
He has been a sessional lecturer of Romani Diaspora Studies at University of Toronto.
His published works include the semi-autobiographical novel The Living Fire, and his two recent dictionaries, Romani-English and English-Romani, complement his grammar text
Learn Romani/ Dás Duma Rromanes.
Copies of his books will be available for purchase.
Hedina Tahirovic Sijeric, national co-ordinator for Roma in Bosnia-Herzegovina, will present the
award.
Mike Butch, of the Gypsy Rebels, will perform Romani music."
